Born as Kamaljeet Singh Jhooti in London, Jay Sean debuted in the asian underground scene there as a member of the Rishi Rich Project whose “Dance With You” made the top twenty. After going solo he also made the UK top ten twice in 2004. Later on his greatest success has been in America, topping the charts there with “Down”, the first UK urban act to do so.
