John is the brother of Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry fame and has had a stunningly succesful career with more than thirty charted singles to his credit. The album ”Kickin’ It Up” from where “Rope The Moon” is taken also contains the original version of the classic ballad “I Swear” which was later covered by R&B outfit All-4-One.
